About 1924, the Thomas Hardware Store was built on the northeast corner of the intersection and a short time later a grocery store was built. Mr. Thomas wanted to build a service station on the corner, so he moved the hardware store to the east. Through the years, this was the home to several different businesses.
The exact date is not clear when Charley Holdridge acquired this grocery store, or how long he was there but in the early 1930's he bought the one across the street.
